December 15, 2007 Wedding

When Rosie & Tim first met us, they had some concerns about their wedding in regards to photography; it will be December, it will be a night ceremony, Casa Loma is under renovations (and is incredibly dark - whoever said old castles have to be dark anyway?!) and what if the weather does not cooperate? We talked to them of our experiences with similar weddings, the possibilities, we put a plan of action together and we even attended the rehearsal to make sure everything went perfectly. Then the biggest snow storm in ten years hit Toronto!

Thankfully, Rosie and Tim didn't let a thing get them down and they exemplified our advice to every couple - when the day starts, just go with the flow and have a great time! We're positive that not only did Rosie and Tim have an amazing time last night but so did all of their family and friends! There was much laughter and even some tears, and this last wedding of the year for us reminded us what we love so much about the art of wedding photography - the immense challenges and the raw emotions of the day! Congratulations Rosie & Tim and a happy holidays to everyone!

Even with the big snow storm outside, Rosie never lost her head! :)

The wonderful bridal suite at Casa Loma (you could shoot a whole wedding in there!)

Instead of getting down about the weather, the bride and groom insisted that we all run outside and get a shot of them and all of the snow!

The happy couple!

Casa Loma can be confusing.

Smokin'!

This pretty fountain was hidden by the ceremony so we snuck in for a quick shot!

Why watch reality television when you witness this every Saturday?! Not a dry eye in the house!

We love it when the Dads know how to boogie!

Little flowers girls dancing the night away! It somehow completes every wedding!

December 8, 2007 Wedding

You could imagine how touched we were when Balvinder called us asking about our availability in either November or December. We had recently shot Balvinder's sister's wedding and spent considerable time with their family and we consider it a major complement when someone calls about our availability before finalizing their own wedding day! Moreover, it is such a wonderful experience to arrive at a wedding when you already know most of the family - you feel like you simply belong!

Mother nature was as kind as she could for December - clear skies and plus temperatures. While Sikh weddings are typically long, Heidi and I found that the day went very fast with this fun and loving couple!
